Well at our house we are in full swing for Christmas! The Tree is gorgeous with home made decorations. The presents are wrapped with way more sticky tape than is needed. And the family has arrived to start the Christmas partying. So what else is needed. Well according to my husband, we need to do the lawn. He had my 10 year old nephew, 9 year old son, very old Step-father in law, Brother in law and himself out there yesterday manicuring the lawn, so we can all eat and be merry on it on Sunday. He has deemed water fights ok, and slip and slide a maybe (depending on how much slippy soap we put on – it can harm the lawn you know) and tables and chairs on there. Let me just say being a turf farmer and living with a landscaper/turf technician our lawn gets a spruce up only once a year when everyone is  coming. And the different turf types that make up my lawn (Palmetto in the shade, Zoysia where the cars park, Coastal Mix where the kids play and green couch under the clothes line and Blue couch out the front) are all given their special make over with their special needs, and then come together as one big green lush lawn. And isn’t that part of what Christmas is all about. Everyone from different areas and backgrounds coming together to form a beautiful family to gather eat and be merry at Christmas. And its even better if its done on a Coastal Turf Lawn!

Hi all lawn lovers. Just a quick note to say Thursday is these last day to order your turf to get it in time for Christmas. But never fear if you do want turf between Christmas and new year we will be here for you, we do need w day or two notice.

Well on 9 more sleeps until the BIG day, according to my children. They are super excited because school ends today (my daughter took a sicky today, but my son went cause they are having a party) an then its holidays. I am excited too cause it means that I don’t have to have the 5 of us ready to go out the door by 8.30am any more, we can have that extra half an hour on our hands. And the weather has picked up so they can go outside and play. Hurray from the kids and hurray from the parents!

Now kids, the best most lovely present you can give Mum and Dad this holiday is not socks or that thing you found down the bottom of your bed, but a lovely Coastal Turf Certificate so that can have lovely green grass for you to play on and give them some peace and relaxing time. Good for you and Great for them. And of course there is nothing like backyard cricket during the holidays, Parents vs Kids, and you can’t do that in bear feet on dirt and stones. But on lovely soft grass you can.

We are open on the 28th December and only have the 1st January off, so when your lovely children, neighbors, friends or family give you a lovely gift certificate you can spend it straight away while they are there to help you instal it for free, or hit them up for a little extra so we can come in and install it for you, while you sit down relaxed and watch. We can print your certificate out here, or email it to you so it will definetly be there in time for Christmas!

I was watching the TV the other night and the ad came on for the new laws that are coming out so people can compare home loans. What a  great Idea. And the QTPA (Queensland Turf Producers Association) and the TPA (Turf Producers Australia) are trying to bring it in for Turf.

Too many times I get calls from people who say that they can get turf for cheaper, and will we match prices. My answer is always that at Coastal Turf sell our A Grade Products at that price because we REALLY have A Grade Grasses. A grade Turf to us means weed free and thick and Fluffy – not just cut off a farm paddock that could be a type of grass, but it has lots of other different grasses in it. It is really important that you ask companies what their A Grade products are and what makes them an A Grade Grass.

I know our A Grade Palmetto’s and Zoysia’s only have Palmetto and Zoysia in them. Our A Grade Wintergreen and Queensland Blue Couch only have Couch in them. But we do have B Grade grasses for those who don’t want the A grade grasses and are looking to save a bit of money. Our B Grade Grasses are not as thick and Fluffy as the A Grade, and are therefore labeled and sold that way, cheaper than the A Grade. But give them the 6 week settle time and they will be thick and fluffy at your place.

So please watch and compare prices, but also ask about their quality! Coastal Turf does A Grade to A Grade Quality!

Well Summer is a very funny term at the moment isn’t it. I mean where is the Sun? Maybe a bit of Rainember has come this year. But the rain does make the grass grow!

And makes back yards very muddy, and floors even muddier!I had a lovely lady call the other day who just wanted grass, it didn’t matter what because she was sick of the black dirt being walked in by children, and husbands onto her new white tiles. So we got some lovely green grass over to her straight away so her yard was green instead of mud. And with all the rain she didn’t have to water it either. So win win!

So yes even in the rain, we can cut your grass and bring it to you. But you have to speak REALLY nicley to us if you want the boys to install it….

Well hello December! Christmas is running at us and I had a friend ask me the other day what she should give her Brother who had just moved into his new house for Christmas. And after many thinking cups of coffee later I thought that a Coastal Turf Gift certificate would be great. Sometimes after you move in, and you want to have Christmas at your place cause you are very proud of your new place, you can become a little disheartened because the outside is still not perfect.
